We love seeing our books and albums used for out-of-the-ordinary projects, so were delighted when Doyle Yachts asked us to create a book to promote their handmade sails. Months later and we get to share it with you. We love how powerful the full bleed pages look, and think this is going to really help set them apart. Doyle chose to order two 12x12 Q Book Lights, and asked us for a complete 80 page design (160 sides). This meant we had enough room for large images, but also space to incorporate text throughout the design to explain different aspects of the sails. Projects To View More >>

Our Album of the Week features the wedding of Kathryn and Alexander, and photography by Natalija Brunovs from We Are All Stardust (AUS). Natalija shared a few thoughts about the day and the album design with us below. "I really enjoyed the laid-back elegance of these two. They had a minimalist feel but with gorgeous little details, where it really counted." "Likewise, their album design reflected that attitude. We went for a spacious modern design, letting images breath on the page, a truly “less is more” attitude. It can be so hard to cull back the selection To View More >>

CHOICE, TRUST AND TECHNOLOGY Has your lab stopped offering traditional silver halide printing? It’s sad to see such a gloriously refined technology abandoned. With forty years pro lab experience, and chemicals in our veins, we aren’t ready to turn our backs on traditional photographic printing just yet. In fact we think it retains an important place, and we’re committed to the technology. But here’s why the Big Boy Labs are selling the line that silver halide is finished. Their top priority is, and must be, internal efficiency. They have expensive, high-volume machines to To View More >>

Every year or two we ask the fantastic photographers we work with for fresh new images to beautify our website, sample albums, blog posts etc, and the response always blows us away. We call this our Bragging Rights promotion because, even though it’s not really a competition, people are proud to have their work chosen from the hundreds of submissions, and we’re very proud to use them. Our customers come from around the world, and we like to highlight the vibrant cultures, dramatic environments and compelling stories that we see every day in the books and albums we make. This year we To View More >>

Several weeks ago, engaged couple Janet and Chip hit the streets of New York and the Museum of Natural History with their photographer Parris Whittingham for a pre-wedding engagement session. After seeing their proofs of the shoot, the couple decided to commission two 9×9 matted albums as wedding gifts for their parents. Parris says, "With the support of Queensberry, we were able to custom design and receive these exquisite parent albums in record time…" Our congratulations and best wishes to Janet and Chip as they wed this weekend - 8 May, 2010. I wrote this post two years ago and for some reason never published it, but I think it makes some good points about simplicity and not confusing price and payoff. See what you think... We had an interesting email from a client who also deals with a certain other album company (shame on him – LOL). This company makes a big deal about simplicity … and quite right too. Anyway, he asked them if they'd consider introducing some - gulp - options, and to his frustration they said No. Now to be fair, over the years we've got better at saying No to things that compromise either the integrity of our To View More >>

We were delighted when Donal Doherty recently shared these beautiful pictures on his blog. (Full post here) Donal designed this 14x10 classic matted album for his clients Karen and Gary. They chose an embossed onyx micro leather cover with a page mount style inside, designed with black borders under a hand cut ivory mat. Karen and Gary also ordered two parent albums as well, which are smaller, digital copies of the main album. We love the results! Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us Donal :) To View More >>
